I love Sundays. That is the day that I ask that the Lord to speak to my heart and fill me to overflowing with the Holy Spirit. My prayer is for my Lord to teach me more about His Word and about Him. We go to church and then listen to many different televised sermons, recorded via Sky Angel, in the afternoon. Yes, I take notes on those sermons also. The messages we heard this Sunday were all excellent. As we listen to the sermons, Bob or I will often comment, "Oh, if only the standers could hear this."
Sunday morning at Christian Life Center, our home church, Pastor Yeary reminded us that our Lord is our Shepherd and we are His sheep. He found us; He shields and leads us; He cares and teaches us; and He keeps and guards us. Our Pastor also read a scripture that describes the prodigal spouses:
"And Isaiah boldly says, "I was found by those who did not seek me; I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me." But concerning Israel he says, "All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and obstinate people." Romans 10:20-21
He then read Psalm 23; "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his names sake." Psalm 23:1-3
What a perfect scripture for each of us and for all the prodigal spouses and our loved ones. Our Lord will restore their souls and guide each of them down the paths of righteousness. "Oh, Lord may we never forget this truth. May we believe and never give up on our spouse and loved ones."
