Lord, I Need Your Help!
"This is what the LORD says your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go." Isaiah 48:17
Do you need your Lord’s help in your life and marriage right now? I know that I do more than any other time in my life. The Lord is the head of this ministry and He is also my spouse for the rest of my life. I have surrendered everything to my Lord; have you? You can pray a prayer right now praying for God’s perfect will in your life and marriage:
"Lord, I praise Your Holy Name. Lord, I am asking you to direct my footsteps every minute of my life. I do not know what to do regarding so many of my circumstances. Lord, I surrender my life to Your will and way. Lord, I am seeking your wise counsel and instructions as You speak to my heart which direction and path I should take to follow You. Thank You for Your wisdom and knowledge as You speak to my heart. I am not going to give up on my beloved spouse or on our marriage regardless of the present or future circumstances. I know nothing is too hard for You. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen."
The third hindrance in receiving answers to your prayers is not asking for God’s will, His divine help and intervention in your life and in rebuilding your marriage. We live in an instant society and we want everything done right away. We are not willing to wait for God’s perfect timing. Do you know how much your Heavenly Father wants the best for you, your husband or wife and your children? Have you stopped praying faithfully with scriptures and asking the Lord to move your mountains of circumstances?
"Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him". I John 5:14-15
"Lord, as we approach this weekend and the Lord’s Day may my husband or wife and thousands of prodigals repent of their sinful lifestyle, coming to their senses as they are rescued from the trap of the enemy. Lord, call their name, loudly. Shine Your radiant light on each prodigal spouse so they can see the way of escape for them to come home repenting to You and back to my marriage. I pray this all in the mighty Name of Jesus. Amen."
Is your heart’s cry today, "Lord, direct my steps! Please show me what You want me to do regarding my marriage. How do I handle my children and their behaviors? Everyone is telling me to divorce my spouse or ‘get on with my life,’ God has someone better for you,’ and ‘the children will be better off than now.’ But, as I read the Bible, my heart feels something else. Lord, help me. I am asking you to show me your perfect will and way. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen."
"In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears." Psalm 18:6
I hope you are learning to recognize the enemy and his tricks and schemes. Know that your spouse has a heart condition of sin that only our Lord Jesus Christ can touch and deliver them from. Never forget that nothing is too hard for God to fix. (Genesis 18:14) I thank the Lord, that He was patient and loving to me, speaking and showing me more than once, His divine will and way for our marriage to be restored. This weekend may be the perfect time to fast one meal or one day and pray for your husband or wife to have a Damascus road experience this very weekend. As I was looking up scriptures, I found this one below. It has a date and Bob’s name next to it. Our Lord God is faithful to His Word.
"Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please. From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that will I bring about; what I have planned, that will I do." Isaiah 46:9-11
Homework: Look up additional scriptures: Isaiah 55:6-11, Jeremiah 29:13, Jeremiah 33:3, and Matthew 7:7-11.
I pray that your faith is growing as you are hearing and reading the Word of God.
"Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ." Romans 10:17
The fourth hindrance is lack of faith and doubting. Are you walking in faith or are you doubting God, when you pray? If you are doubting, then you should not expect that you will receive anything from the Lord. Let me share a scripture that reminds us of the two hindrances today that can block answers to your prayers.
"Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." Matthew 21:21-22
My prayer for this upcoming Lord’s day is that you will ask, seek and keep knocking (which means persevering) the Lord for His divine wisdom, discernment, answers, counsel and instructions for your marriage. You need to read the Word of God daily. May I suggest you start reading in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John about what Jesus taught the people and His disciples. You cannot know what to do in your circumstances unless you know what the Word of God says.
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. You are my refuge and my shield. I have put my hope in your word." Psalm 119:105,114
God wants you, your spouse and family in Heaven with Him. He will direct your every step if only you will seek His face. The Lord spoke throughout the Bible to His children telling them what to do and how to do it. God will also talk to you. Allow your Lord God to guide and direct you, your spouse and your children’s steps, if only you will ask and believe.
"If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does." James 1:5-8
I pray that these hindrances will start to open your spiritual eyes, ears and touch your heart to see areas that you need to ask the Lord to touch and change in your own heart this very weekend.
Homework: Look up additional scriptures: Mark 6:4-6, Matthew 8:23-27, Hebrews 11:1,6, Luke 24:36-42, and John 20:24-29.
"Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be your." Mark 11:24
