Q1: Sometimes I feel like God is so far away from me.(click for answer)
Kim responds:
I know what a difficult thing it is to feel like God is far way. These times of spiritual weakness are the work of the enemy. And they are the times we need to cling even more tightly to the promises in His Word. Sometimes it isn't that God is far away from us. Sometimes it is we who are far away from God.

You may not see God working in the flesh, but He is there, beside you, leading you in the way you should go. "Your path led through the sea, your way through the mighty waters, though your footprints were not seen." Psalm 77:19 This verse has always comforted me when I feel like I am far away from God or that He is far away from me. I always think about walking along the ocean's edge with God's hand in mine. I can see my footprints, but His are hidden by the constant surging of the tides. But I know that even though I don't see these footprints, they are there. What a reassuring feeling that is.

It is tough when we are feeling battle-weary and defeated. Sometimes we just have to get through these times to get to the other side. God will give us the strength to keep walking. And sometimes we just need to rest awhile in His comforting arms. He'll do this for us, too.

Q2: My husband was starting to change but then, all of a sudden, he turned ugly again. I know that God has told me to keep hanging on but this waiting is hard. I have become so impatient.(click for answer)
Kim responds:
Waiting is perhaps one of the toughest things for us standers - especially when we have seen signs of change in the flesh. Remember what Rejoice Ministries tells us - our spouse is under the control of the enemy. If he sees you succeeding in any way, he likes to up the ante. This is the time when we have to hold tightly to the promises God made and dig even deeper in His Word. He will lead and guide us as we walk this out.

"This is what the LORD says, he who made the earth, the LORD who formed it and established it-the LORD is his name: 'Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.'" Jeremiah 33: 2-3

The path you have chosen is not an easy one, but it is the right one. Never forget who it is that walks beside you. Ask for His guidance every step of the way. Rely on His comfort and strength when you get weary. He will not let you down.

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze." Isaiah 43:2

Q4: My prodigal gets close to us, and then totally disappears. Why?(click for answer)
Bob responds:
We enjoy being around our mates, but Satan tells us it will never work out again. We get scared and draw back even more, until the Holy Spirit touches us again. Then we start coming around our families again, testing the waters.

Q5: Where would you be today if you had not come home?(click for answer)
Bob responds:
Dead and in Hell, not because of a divorce but because of the sin in my life. God can not allow us to run wild while claiming His name. I thank Him for a praying wife who was not about to give up on me.

Q6: My husband is making plans to marry the other woman. I want to continue to stand and believe but this circumstance makes it very hard. I believe he has become deceived.(click for answer)
Kim responds:
Facing the marriage of our beloved spouse to someone else is one of the most difficult circumstances for a stander. As Rejoice Ministries often tells us, they have become blinded and deceived and cannot see a way out. I know that you feel your world has crashed down around you and that all the air has been sucked out of the room. But it's a funny thing - I found that the emptier I felt, the more God filled me with His love and His presence.

I'm not going to tell you it is an easy thing. In fact, it is a very, very hard thing. But we have to believe that God works ALL things together for good - not just the easy things, or the fun things, or the nice things - but ALL things.

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28

God has a perfect plan in mind for your family. His Word is true and will not return void. Sometimes, hard as it is, we have to wait on His perfect timing. And never forget - there are many "suddenlies" in God's Word.

Q10: Do I continue to pray and stand for my spouse when they are planning a wedding with the other person?(click for answer)
Charlyne responds:
Yes. Bob was planning a wedding. My Lord showed me that I had married Bob for life regardless of his behavior. We had a covenant. They were legalizing their adultery.
