"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful." Colossians 4:2
"I was speaking to my husband on the phone about many issues and at the end of the conversation, I asked him if he ever thought about coming home, and he said he feels that everyone thinks about it. God is working and I'm just waiting for my miracle." (Florida)

"Is that my testimony? Sounds like it, but much shorter?" If you have asked that question, the Lord helped to do our job well. Restoration is a process, with its ups and down, as the Holy Spirit convicts and the Enemy attacks. We know how much standers appreciate reading testimonies, but at the same time we are very cautious to avoid hurting couples by a returning spouse feeling tales are being told about them. Each testimony excerpt we publish is 100% truthful, to the best of our knowledge, (God would not honor or bless anything less) but details are omitted whenever possible. We never share about a couple's intimacy issues. Those reports belong in the bedroom or the prayer closet, and not on the Internet. A good measure for you to use is, "How would my spouse feel if they read what I had said about them?" Our goal is to share only enough to give God the praise.
"I met my wife to discuss counseling. She refused, saying she said she knows what she wants. Later, she agreed to go see my pastor, and now after something my son said to her the other night, she said she would be at church Wednesday night. Praise God." (Texas)
"After one year of separation and no communication between my wife and I, our trial was set for this past Thursday. In the morning I had to go somewhere, on the way back to the office I forgot to turn on my normal route. After going a few blocks, there was a Covenant Transport truck sitting there. I have never seen one in town before. I thanked God immediately. We went to court a few hours later and after hearing my wife's grounds for divorce, the judge threw the case out, saying she has to wait at least a year before she can file again. I am thankful to our Lord for this victory in the courts." (Illinois)
"I will praise my Heavenly Father in spite of all things. The divorce was granted this week but God's promise still stands for a restored marriage. Every day my husband was here he wanted to spend time with me. We even had dinner as a family. My husband told me he misses me and the normalcy we had together." (Ohio)
"My husband lost his job. To cut a long story short, he moves his belongings into storage tomorrow and will be our 'house guest' until he finds a new place. Praise the Lord. Pray for us that he never needs to find a 'new' place. I pray and hope that this is the beginning of our marriage being restored." (Florida)
"My husband and I separated a little over a year ago. He filed for divorce, but didn't complete the paperwork correctly. I have been praying that the paperwork would not go through, and that I would not have to appear in court. God answered my prayers because I found out today that the divorce was dismissed." (California)
“I have been standing for my marriage for the past six months and would have stopped had it not been for the support of my church and this Ministry reminding me that the most important thing to do is spend time with God in prayer and praise. I was in a marriage course at my church for married couples. I was the only single there after my husband stopped attending. After the course ended, my husband unexpectedly attended the graduation and told me he was very proud of me for standing for our marriage without his support. God is good. I will continue to not be weary in well doing while awaiting the salvation of my beloved.” (Georgia)
"I called out to God two days ago and asked for His sign to confirm my stand. My husband called me to get a ride somewhere the other woman did not want to take him. As I was driving with him I saw a Covenant Transport truck parked at a gas station." (Georgia) What’s a Covenant Transport truck? My husband left with no warning. God put it in my heart to examine myself and how I contributed to the demise of our relationship. I started reading the Bible and then begin to focus on scriptures that spoke of marriage, wifely duties and faith. I started praying daily for restoration and continued to pray no matter what he said or did to hurt my feelings. I prayed a hedge of thorns around him and called out to God to stop what he hates (Divorce) and restore what he loves (Marriage). I prayed that my husband, who is a Christian, would be convicted by the Holy Spirit to turn away from sin and open his heart back to our marriage. I cried so many tears but remained faithful. Many times I would be about to give up but then God would encourage me with a sign and I would press on. Suddenly my husband started calling me. I was able to express my regrets about my past behavior. He returned home in September, praise the Lord. (Maryland)
I have two amazing examples of God's care and protection of our loved ones. Our son is currently in the States das a summer camp counselor. They had been at a campsite and moved their campervan to replenish their water supply. Five minutes later, a fire swept through the part of the camp site where they had been parked.. Secondly, our foster daughter is currently in London. She had been on the bus one ahead of the bus that was bombed. In both cases I am thanking and praising God for their care and protection. . (New Zealand)
“My husband turned away from God and is living a sinful life. He left our marriage. I am not only praying for my marriage restoration, but also for the salvation of my cousin's husband. He and my cousin's husband are God's lost sheep. My cousin's husband has been saved. He not only quit drinking, but staying home with her and not seeing his mistress. He now asked my cousin to go to church with him. I am so happy even though my husband is still unsaved. I have the faith that God will save my marriage too.” (California)
"I was praying for a glimmer of hope from my wife. Then her father called and asked me to go to breakfast. We had such an amazing time. God really went before us and allowed for me to share my heart with my father-in-law, and I was able to see his. Knowing that my in-laws are praying for restoration just as much as I am was a real encouragement. Praise God." (Canada)
"Our son walked out on his wife last summer. We were sent into shock and dismay. Our beloved daughter-in-law is a stander and introduced us to your ministry. She allowed him a divorce and we are all praying for his repentance and return. Meanwhile your emails have done wonders for our marriage. After 39 years of marriage, my husband bought me for the first time, a Christian card to say he loves me and left it for me to read one morning. To me, it is a sign that God is dealing with all of us and we all are standing for our son's marriage to be restored. Thank you for every word you send out." (Kentucky)
"My husband came to visit our children this past weekend from another state. He seemed to spend more time talking to me then the children and gave me a hug the first night. We watched football Saturday, like the old days, laughing and joking. Praise God." (Virginia)
“I have been standing for my marriage the last two years. Yesterday my husband and I laughed together. We have spent every day together since he left our home, but we have not been friends in years. But yesterday, we enjoyed each other the entire day. As we were driving he jokingly made a comment to me and when he looked at me he could see in my eyes that he was right. I realized at that moment that he had not looked deep into my eyes in years, but it was so comfortable and natural. God is so merciful to such a sinner as me.” (Texas) “The Lord had been convicting me to take the initiative to speak to my husband. We had not talked for a few months. As I've enrolled for Bible school next year, I know that I need to tell my husband. But my pride got in the way and I had a ton of excuses for myself. More than one person just told me out of the blue that I should talk to him. Before I spoke to my husband about Bible school, I prayed fervently. It all turned out ok. We spoke pleasantly with each other. Praise the Lord. I'm glad that He's open to communication and I know that this is one step closer to God's plan of restoration for my marriage. God is good and His grace is sufficient.” (Singapore)
"Yesterday's Charlyne Cares dealing with opposite sex friendships made it clear for me to decline an invitation to have dinner with a married couple and their single male friend. We are all just friends and they all know I'm standing for my marriage. I realized that even the appearance of a double date could jeopardize my stand. My friends understand and my church happens to be having a special service on the same night so I will go to church instead. I know God planned that to help me know the right thing to do." (Wisconsin)
“(Husband) home last Thursday, addicted, and checked himself into a detox center. It will be a long uphill battle but praise God, the battle is His. I am grateful that the Lord led my prodigal to choose me when he hit bottom and needed someone.” (Delaware)
"My husband is home, but we are still rebuilding the foundation of our marriage. Sometimes he is very friendly, and other times cold and distant. During one of those times, I asked him what was wrong. He didn't believe the changes in me. He said they weren't humanly possible. I told him that he was exactly right. God is amazing." (Tennessee)
“God works in mysterious ways. My oldest son had a spontaneous pnuemo-thorax (lung pop) and now he is preparing for a retreat where he will share his steadfast faith in the Lord with other young people.” (Missouri)
"I am praising the Lord that my God brought my husband home this past weekend. It was very suddenly. Thank you Bob and Charlyne for your wisdom and direction on how to stand. I thank God for you both. There is much to continue to stand for, but God can do anything." (Arizona)
“God does talk to His children. Last night I felt like the Lord wanted me to read from the Book of Mark. After about four Chapters, I took my hand and ran over my pages and ended up in Matthew. Right in front of my eyes was the word Talitha. Jesus said it to the little girl that he brought back to life. The only person I'd ever heard say that word is my husband. He called me that as a pet name when we were dating. I thought he'd made it up. I never knew it was in the Bible until last night.” (Arkansas)
"This past week was tremendous. My husband sent me text messages and also asked me to send him family pictures taken a few weeks earlier. I had asked God for a sign in scripture twenty minutes prior to this and then I received this message." (Ohio)
"... We constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith. We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ." 2 Thessalonians 1:10-12
"My husband who had been gone over a year has returned home. To God be the glory, for only He could have brought my husband home." (Washington State)
"But I gave them this command: Obey me, and I will be your God and you will be my people. Walk in all the ways I command you, that it may go well with you." Jeremiah 7:23
“I was asking God if I was to tell my husband that I love him and that he was welcome home, that God would provide a way and He did. Sunday my husband came over to pick up something to give away to a friend. We spent four hours together and had an awesome time. Today the item he wanted to take is still at our house. God is faithful.” (North Dakota)
"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light." I Peter 1:9
"Yesterday I had just finished telling a friend how God always provides for my son when the doorbell rang. I found my husband on the doorstep with about eight bags of food. It was more than we needed, and I felt that I should take particular items to a friend. It turned out that these were her favorite food and were the ingredients that she needed for that night’s soup. God is always amazing." (England)
"The Lord told me to fast today and I spent all day with Him. I asked my kids if they wanted to drive and get some air. As I was driving I was thinking how the Lord could make it possible for my husband and me to fall in love again. I saw a fireworks display in the sky. The Lord was telling me that there could be fireworks again in my marriage. Thank You, Lord." (Virginia)
"Two years after my husband became involved with another person. After much crying out to God, Christmas morning my husband who moved home several months ago put a new wedding ring in my stocking. God is good and I am now mindful of the target we are to the enemy. (Maryland)
"I thank God for your ministry. My husband moved out last year and I never thought I would make it, but, with God all things are possible. God does provide all our needs even before we ask Him sometimes. My son really needed new shoes for church and I had mentioned it to no one. A week ago, a lady at church told me she had a pair that she thought maybe he could wear. They fit perfectly, and he is so hard to fit, with long, skinny feet. Praise the Lord. He is so good." (Virginia)
“During the years that I have been standing for my marriage the Lord has been very good to me and my children and has blessed us beyond measure. I am finally at the point in my walk with the Lord that I truly believe He is the God of the impossible and there is nothing that He cannot do. I got the impossible! While talking to my husband on the telephone. as we started to end our conversation, he said, 'Love you.' It has been years since he has said he loved me. I know that he did not mean to say it but I had prayed that God would show me his heart and He did.” (Texas)
“My husband is home now, after a three year absence. All during my stand the pastors and elders of the church kept telling me I was 'flogging a dead horse.' They even tried to 'fix me up' with a Christian man who served in missions. One day we had a guest speaker at church. During the sermon, my mind wandered off to the other man, and I was jolted into reality when the speaker stopped preaching and said, 'There is someone here who is thinking about someone who is not their spouse.' Praise God, I had prayed for Him to deliver me from temptation and He showed Himself faithful as always.” (Canada)
"The enemy has tried to discourage me with threats of cancer and the possible moving of my job offshore, but the Lord turned all of that back this week. I was blessed to get a call from my prodigal and to be able to testify to him all about it. I had been too busy praying for my husband, children and others to pray for myself when these threats came. God covered me out of faithfulness to His plans for us." (Illinois)
“In obedience to my God, I moved from California to Texas. My children and I are faithfully standing in the gap for my husband. It's been a long road, but worth every tear that I have shed. God has been so faithful. Last weekend, my husband who was so mad at me for leaving California and for months would not even speak to me, came to Texas. He didn't stay in our home, but he invited me to different things. My husband even attended church with us on Sunday. I later learned from our pastor's wife that God had woken him up at 2:00 A.M. and changed the message. I didn't see the blessing until two days later. I knew that God was going to do something great on this trip, because He told me so, and how subtle the devil is, I almost missed it.” (Texas)
"I have been praying as to whether I should give my husband his half and let him go to the far country. Perhaps he needed to go to the far country before he could return to our marriage. God twice gave me a rhema word from Isaiah 30:7,in one translation is ‘Their strength is to sit still.' I am to stay and sit still. If he wants his half, I'll give it gladly. By the way, I do not own a King James Bible, so the coincidences needed to get me this verse in this translation helps convince me this is a rhema word." (Texas)
"Last Thanksgiving my husband of 15 years came home from his job in another state to inform me that our marriage was over. It was hopeless. He was tired of the pain and wanted to be happy. I didn't know he had been unhappy; it was a shock to me. His isolation in a 'far country' allowed him to be deceived. He became the proverbial prodigal. I cried out to God and sought God's direction in His Word. I didn't know what standing was, but that is what He had me do. I travailed in prayer and fasted. I prayed that God would turn his heart toward home again. He did, but, my husband was double minded. I used spiritual warfare, rebuking and binding demonic forces, and I pleaded the Blood of Jesus over my husband. Over the past year, I have seen him change back into the sweet loving sane husband he used to be. This Thanksgiving he is eager to come home and just enjoy his family life. During that very trying time, I read "Charlyne Cares" every day. It was such a source of strength, encouragement, and direction for me. There were times when I just wanted to give up, or let him have it, or whatever. But, the daily devotionals stabilized me to stand." (New York)
"I have seen God answer my prayers regarding my husband and our restoration. He has expressed that he wants to go to counseling. He is communicating more and more. He is calling to spend time with me more often. He is thinking about coming home. To God be the glory." (Maryland)
"This week, I was able to talk to friends who have moved away and tell them about my stand. Just talking about it strengthened my resolve. This morning, I received an email from them that they are rejoining the fight to get my spouse back in the Kingdom. This is some of the greatest encouragement I could have received. Praise Jesus for others who will come alongside to fight with you." (Pennsylvania)
"I have returned home to my husband. Your ministry helped me. Many times during the last years I would get discouraged as I waited for my husband to want me to come home, but God was using that time to teach and change me into a better person and wife. I can now praise God for this time of separation. I am turning to God every day to help me." (Michigan)
"My prodigal has been back home for months. Last evening on my lowest point I turned to 'Charlyne Cares' for the day and it spoke words of encouragement to my soul. She may have addressed all standers but that word was for me alone. To God be all the glory." (East Africa)
"My spouse sent me a surprise plant arrangement for Valentine's Day from halfway around the world." (North Carolina)
"On Easter Sunday, my husband was invited to play with the band at church. I left a note inviting him to sit with me and stating I loved him. With that gesture, he began to let God talk to him. My husband asked me to dinner that week. We met and agreed to a date on Sunday as well. After the dates, he decided he loved me, but shouldn't get back together. But God remained faithful. I went on my vacation. While I was gone, he missed me and decided he had been wrong and wanted to work things out. Working things out is as hard if not harder than standing. I'm now more than ever having to walk the walk. Have faith in our Lord to work things out in His time and for His will, but be prepared to do whatever whenever He asks. The prodigal father knew how to welcome home his son. Be sure you know how to welcome home your prodigal mate. We are not completely restored. We both have healing to do." (Texas)
"I praise the Lord that my husband is now home! God will finish what He starts. My husband told me that he is going to finish his course (School of Ministry) and he is going back to school in September! Praise the Lord. He is truly faithful." (California)
"After years of standing and my husband coming back many times, I believe this time it is for real. I believe and will never give up because my Redeemer lives." (Georgia)
"I am happy to report (husband) has been home since January. We celebrated our wedding anniversary and he surprised me with a dinner/theater date. God can soften even the most stubborn person's heart." (Washington)
"I've been standing with my daughter for the restoration of her marriage for years. It's painful at times to see my daughter going through this, but God is answering my prayers and she has and still is, becoming a strong Godly woman. I do get discouraged, but then God always provides me with His encouragement. My husband and I were just in Florida, driving along the turnpike. Seeing your billboard encouraged my heart. My grandchildren are with their Dad for spring break and God so wonderfully provided my daughter with a gift to visit her best friend in California. Just after I got through to my daughter on her cell phone, I looked up and we were passing a Covenant truck. God's timing is always perfect. (Michigan) (A P.S. from Pompano; Charlyne a vision of at least one billboard in every state. Please pray for that. Can you help her to do it?)
