Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead – since he was about a hundred years old – and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.”  Romans 4:18-22 (emphasis mine)
Abraham, what a man of faith! This Lord’s Day, my prayer is that we would always strive to be more like Abraham when the enemy tries to defeat us. Abraham believed God, his El Shaddai – The All Sufficient One. Abraham believed that God had power to do anything! Do you? Are you battling fear that your marriage will not be restored? Walk in faith and be willing to sell out to your El Shaddai and say, “I will trust you, I will not waver anymore through unbelief, and I will stand on the promises of God; you are my El Shaddai.”
Through the darkest hours, El Shaddai – God Almighty – wants to show you who He really is and deliver you from your crisis. We must learn of His faithfulness! Do you not feel worthy enough that you can believe that your El Shaddai would answer your prayers and heal your marriage? God created you. God created marriage. God hates divorce. He is no respecter of persons. God keeps His Word.
When you have no one else, turn to El Shaddai, The All-Sufficient One, God Almighty; He is there for you. El Shaddai is telling you to come to Him and spend time with Him only. El Shaddai is able to fulfill His purpose in you; He is mighty in sufficiency. He will become your protector while your spouse is gone in the far country or if you are widowed as I am now. He is so faithful! He will meet you right where you are now. Are you lonely, weary, tired, and overwhelmed by all your responsibilities? Run into His arms that are waiting for you to protect and help you through all your circumstances. He will give you strength from on High. Do you feel weak in faith? Go to El Shaddai and allow Him to change your hopeless situation.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.  2 Corinthians 12:9-10
El Shaddai occurs 48 times in the Old Testament. It also means that He is the one to nourish, satisfy and supply; the God Almighty who will pour out blessings in His timing.
Abraham was 99 years old, Sarah was 89 and they were still childless. Yet, God had promised them a child of their own. Abraham and Sarah had to wait 13 years before God kept His Word. Why? Because God’s timing is always perfect. The Lord wants us to trust and believe what He has spoken. God wants to get all the glory! Stop doubting, shake off the fear and unbelief, and press on in faith and obedience for your marriage to be restored.

Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring…As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed – the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were.  Romans 4:16a, 17
What a powerful scripture! May you ask the Lord to make these scriptures come alive to you. May this truth leave your head and be transferred to your heart by the Holy Spirit. May you continue to seek to learn the awesomeness of our God that we serve. Never forget: Nothing is too hard for Him to do! He can resurrect, rebuild and restore your marriage, if only you will trust Him and have faith in His mighty power.

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for.  Hebrews 11:1-2
“El” actually stands for might or power and, when it is not used for God, it is still translated might or power. God also demonstrates this by the sacrifice of His Son dying on the cross and His resurrection power.
The secret to a godly walk is to receive Jesus as Savior and Lord, believe in Him and in His Word. You must believe, walk in faith and wait on the Lord’s timing until you receive the victory of your restored marriage. Have you asked Jesus Christ to become Savior and Lord of your life? If not, do it today on the Lord’s Day! Click here for our special webpage about receiving Jesus Christ as your Savior. If you accept the Lord, please let us know and we would love to send you a gift.
Believe, trust and have faith in the character and power of the Lord God as El Shaddai. Abraham believed God, his El Shaddai – The All Sufficient One – and see what God did for Abraham. God will do the same for you!

It was not through law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith… Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.  Romans 4:13, 16
